About Saint Zechariah the Prophet
Zechariah prophesied after the Babylonian exile while the people of Judah were rebuilding Jerusalem and its temple. His visions called them to return to God, practice justice and mercy, and trust the Lord’s promised restoration. Christians have long read his words about a humble king and a pierced one in light of Christ’s saving mission.

God of restoration, through Saint Zechariah’s intercession, call us back whenever our hearts wander. Teach us to practice justice and mercy, rebuild what sin has damaged, and welcome Christ our humble King with enduring hope. Amen.
