Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to create an account and use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.

To use most features of the App, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at connect@praylamp.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently.

PrayLamp is a Catholic prayer and devotional application that provides daily Scripture readings, guided Rosary audio, spiritual journaling, Bible reading, personal prayer composition, traditional prayers, and a faith-based companion feature. The App is designed to support your personal prayer life and spiritual growth.

The App offers a free account with core features, and an optional premium subscription (“PrayLamp Premium”) that provides additional features and content. See Section 4 for subscription terms.

4.1 PrayLamp Premium. PrayLamp offers a premium subscription (“PrayLamp Premium”), a fee-based program that upgrades the free account by providing additional features and content beyond what is available in the free account.

4.2 How to subscribe. You can subscribe to PrayLamp Premium through Apple's in-app purchase system. Your purchase is subject to Apple's terms of use and privacy policy, which you must accept before making payment.

4.3 Automatic renewal. Your PrayLamp Premium subscription will continue and automatically renew until cancelled. You must cancel your subscription before it renews to avoid being charged for the next billing cycle. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings.

4.4 Subscription plans. We may offer multiple subscription plans, including monthly, annual, or promotional plans. Some plans may have different conditions and limitations, which will be disclosed at sign-up. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or introduce new subscription plans at any time.

4.5 Free trials. Your subscription may start with a free trial. The duration of the free trial will be specified during sign-up. Free trial eligibility is determined by PrayLamp at its sole discretion, and we may limit eligibility to prevent abuse. We reserve the right to revoke a free trial if we determine you are not eligible. Users with an existing or recent PrayLamp Premium subscription are not eligible for a free trial.

4.6 Billing at end of trial. We will charge the subscription fee for your next billing cycle to your payment method at the end of the free trial period. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel prior to the end of the free trial period.

4.7 Billing cycle. The subscription fee and any applicable taxes will be charged to your payment method on the billing date associated with your subscription. The length of your billing cycle depends on the plan you choose at sign-up. Subscription fees are fully earned upon payment.

4.8 Cancellation and refunds. You may cancel your PrayLamp Premium subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.

4.9 Price changes. We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following the date of the price change. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

5.1 Ownership. You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including journal entries, prayer intentions, prayer text, bookmarks, and other user-generated content (“User Content”).

5.2 License to us. By submitting User Content, you grant Devote Good LLC a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App. We will never sell your User Content, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

5.3 Content guidelines. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. While your journal and prayers are private, we reserve the right to remove content that violates these guidelines if it is brought to our attention.

Certain features of the App generate content in response to your input, including personal prayers, spiritual reflections, and answers to faith questions. This content is generated using AI services provided by Google (Vertex AI) and is provided for devotional and educational purposes only.

6.1 How AI features work

When you use prayer composition, the spiritual journal check-in, or the Seek & Learn companion, your input (such as prayer intentions, journal reflections, or questions) is sent to Google's servers for processing via the Vertex AI API. Google processes this data solely to generate your response.

• Your data is not stored by Google after processing is complete.
• Your data is not used to train, improve, or fine-tune any AI models.
• Your data is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to generate your response.

6.2 Consent and your choices

Before using any AI-powered feature for the first time, the App will ask for your explicit consent to process your data as described above. You may:

• Decline consent: You can close the consent prompt and continue using all non-AI features of the App without limitation.
• Revoke consent at any time: Go to Settings > AI Features in the App to turn off AI data processing. Revoking consent disables AI-powered features but does not affect your other data or account.

6.3 Content disclaimer

• Generated content does not constitute official Catholic teaching, theological advice, or pastoral counsel. It is not a substitute for the guidance of a priest, spiritual director, or qualified religious authority.
• While we strive for accuracy and faithfulness to Catholic tradition, generated content may contain errors or omissions. You should verify any doctrinal or scriptural claims through authoritative sources.
• You may use generated prayers and reflections for your personal devotional practice. You may not use generated content for commercial purposes without our written consent.

The App, Site, and all associated content (excluding User Content and third-party content), including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, audio recordings, software, and the overall design and arrangement, are the property of Devote Good LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Bible text: Scripture readings in the App are from the Douay-Rheims Bible, which is in the public domain.

Audio content: Rosary narrations, background music, and prayer audio are original works created by or licensed to Devote Good LLC. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from this audio content.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, networks, or infrastructure.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App or its content.
• Impersonate another person or entity when using the App.
• Attempt to access another user's account or personal data.
• Use the App to send unsolicited communications or spam.

We strive to keep the App available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

We reserve the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as Firebase for authentication and storage). Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party service.

THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the App is free of viruses or other harmful components.

Religious content disclaimer: The App provides devotional content and tools to support your prayer life. It is not a substitute for participation in the sacraments, guidance from clergy, or the teaching authority of the Catholic Church. All theological and doctrinal content should be verified with authoritative Church sources.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVOTE GOOD LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US FOR PRAYLAMP PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so these limitations may not apply to you in full.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Devote Good LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

14.1 By you. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data (journal entries, prayers, activity history, and account information) will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you have an active PrayLamp Premium subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings before or after deleting your account to avoid future charges.

14.2 By us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive activity, or if required by law. Where possible, we will notify you at the email address associated with your account before or at the time of suspension or termination, and provide the reason. Upon termination by us, your right to use the App ceases immediately and your personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy, unless retention is required by law.

14.3 Effect of termination. Termination of your account, whether by you or by us, does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue in effect after termination.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in the State of Florida or, at your election, via telephone or video conference.

Class action waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

Nothing in this section shall prevent either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Devote Good LLC regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
