About Saint Valentine of Rome
Valentine is named in ancient tradition as a Christian martyr buried along Rome’s Via Flaminia, probably in the third century. Later stories identify him as a priest who aided Christians or blessed marriages, but reliable details are scarce and traditions may combine more than one martyr. His association with romantic love developed much later.
