About Saint Teresa of Ávila
Teresa entered the Carmelite monastery at Ávila and, after years of illness and uneven prayer, experienced a profound conversion to friendship with Christ. She founded reformed communities marked by poverty, sisterhood, and contemplation, often amid resistance. Her Interior Castle and other writings made her a master of prayer and the first woman Doctor of the Church.
