About Saint Sebastian
Sebastian was an early Christian martyr honored in Rome by the fourth century. Tradition presents him as a soldier who secretly aided imprisoned Christians during Diocletian’s persecution. After surviving execution by arrows, he confronted the emperor and was killed. His steadfast witness and association with epidemic intercession inspired centuries of devotion and sacred art.
