About Saint Scholastica
Scholastica, who lived in sixth-century Italy, was the sister of Benedict and dedicated her life to God in a community of women near Monte Cassino. Gregory the Great recounts their final visit, when her prayer brought a storm so their spiritual conversation could continue. Benedict later saw her soul rise like a dove.
