About Saint Rose of Lima
Rose of Lima, born Isabel Flores de Oliva, was a seventeenth-century Peruvian lay Dominican. She supported her family through embroidery and gardening, devoted long hours to prayer, and cared for sick and poor people in a room at home. Her severe penances require historical context, while her solidarity and contemplative love endure.
