About Saint Philip Neri
Philip Neri was a sixteenth-century Florentine who served pilgrims, the poor, and young people in Rome before becoming a priest. Through informal gatherings of prayer, music, Scripture, and conversation, he founded the Oratory. His joyful humor, spiritual discernment, and freedom from self-importance made him an influential guide during Catholic reform.
