About Saint Peter Canisius
Peter Canisius was an early Dutch Jesuit who spent decades teaching, preaching, advising, and founding colleges across German-speaking Europe during the Reformation. His clear catechisms appeared in several forms for different learners and went through many editions. He defended Catholic teaching firmly while urging restraint in polemics and sustained an enormous ministry of letters and travel.
