About Saint Nicholas of Tolentino
Nicholas entered the Augustinian order in thirteenth-century Italy and spent most of his priesthood in Tolentino. Known as a gentle preacher, confessor, peacemaker, and friend of the poor, he joined rigorous prayer to practical charity. Devotion to him spread quickly, especially among people seeking reconciliation and prayer for the faithful departed.
