About Saint Monica
Monica was a fourth-century North African Christian, wife, mother, and persistent woman of prayer. She accompanied her son Augustine through years of estrangement from her faith and rejoiced at his baptism in Milan. Shortly before her death at Ostia in 387, mother and son shared a celebrated conversation about eternal life.
