About Saint Meletius of Antioch
Meletius became bishop of Antioch in 360 amid fierce divisions over Christ’s divinity. Although elected with support from several factions, his clear teaching led to repeated imperial exile. He worked patiently for Nicene unity and presided at the opening of the Council of Constantinople in 381, where he died before the council concluded.
