About Saint Maurice
Maurice is venerated as the commander of the Theban Legion, a group of Christian soldiers said to have been martyred at Agaunum in present-day Switzerland for refusing unjust orders and pagan sacrifice. The detailed narrative was written later and is debated, but his ancient cult has long represented conscience, solidarity, and fidelity within military service.
