About Saint Mary (Nativity)
The Church celebrates Mary’s birth as the dawn of the fulfillment God prepared for the coming of Christ. Scripture does not recount the event, and the names of her parents come from early Christian tradition, yet the feast rejoices in Mary as a real daughter of Israel whose free yes would welcome the Savior into the world.

God of saving promise, on the feast of Mary’s birth we thank you for preparing a humble mother for your Son. Through her intercession, make our lives ready for Christ and teach us to receive every person as your gift. Amen.
