About Saint Mary (Assumption)
The Assumption celebrates the Church’s faith that, when Mary’s earthly life was completed, God took her body and soul into heavenly glory. Defined solemnly by Pope Pius XII in 1950, the feast proclaims Christ’s victory over death and anticipates the resurrection promised to all the faithful.
