About Saint Margaret of Scotland
Margaret, an English royal exile, married King Malcolm III and became queen of Scotland in the eleventh century. She promoted education, liturgical reform, care for orphans and poor families, and hospitality to pilgrims. Raising a large family amid political turmoil, she paired disciplined personal prayer with direct service, reportedly washing the feet of people in need.
