About Saint Albert the Great
Albert was a thirteenth-century Dominican scholar who studied theology, philosophy, and the natural world with unusual breadth. Teaching in Paris and Cologne, he helped recover Aristotle for Christian thought and mentored Thomas Aquinas. Though briefly bishop of Regensburg, he preferred study and preaching, insisting that careful observation of creation could serve faith rather than threaten it.
