About Saint Lydia of Thyatira
Lydia was a merchant of purple cloth from Thyatira living in Philippi. Acts says she worshiped God and listened as Paul preached beside the river; the Lord opened her heart, and she and her household were baptized. Her insistent hospitality gave the new Christian mission a home and made her an early European disciple.
