About Saint Lawrence O’Toole
Lawrence O’Toole became abbot of Glendalough and then the first Irish-born archbishop of Dublin during the twelfth century. He reformed clergy, cared for the poor, and practiced periods of retreat in the Wicklow mountains. When Norman invasion destabilized Ireland, he repeatedly acted as mediator between Irish rulers, Henry II, and Church authorities.

Pray with Saint Lawrence O’Toole
God of reconciliation, through Saint Lawrence O’Toole’s intercession, bless Ireland and all lands wounded by conquest. Give bishops courage to mediate, reformers patience, and public leaders a preference for the poor over personal advantage. Amen.
