About Saint Julie Billiart
Julie Billiart, born in a French village in 1751, taught children and sustained an active prayer life despite decades of paralysis. Amid revolutionary turmoil she co-founded the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur with Françoise Blin de Bourdon to educate poor girls and train teachers. After recovering her ability to walk, she traveled widely establishing schools.
