About Saint Casilda of Toledo
Casilda is remembered in medieval Spanish tradition as a Muslim ruler’s daughter in Toledo who secretly carried food to Christian prisoners. After suffering illness, she reportedly found healing at springs near Briviesca, received baptism, and lived there as a hermit. The story’s historical details are difficult to verify, but her cult is longstanding.
