About Saint Joseph, Husband of Mary

Joseph was a Jewish craftsman of Nazareth, husband of Mary, and legal father of Jesus. Matthew’s Gospel portrays him as righteous, merciful, and attentive to God’s guidance in dreams; he protected Mary and Jesus, fled with them to Egypt, and established their home in Nazareth. Scripture records no words spoken by him.
