About Saint Cyril of Jerusalem
Cyril, born around 315, became bishop of Jerusalem and suffered repeated exile during theological and political conflicts over Arianism. His Catechetical Lectures explain the Creed, baptism, Eucharist, and Christian moral life to those preparing for initiation. He participated in the Council of Constantinople in 381 and is honored as a Doctor of the Church.
