About Saint Josemaría Escrivá
Josemaría Escrivá was a twentieth-century Spanish priest who founded Opus Dei in Madrid in 1928. He taught that laypeople are called to holiness and apostolic service through ordinary work, family life, and social responsibilities. After the Spanish Civil War he expanded the organization internationally and later established its center in Rome.
