About Saint John Francis Regis
John Francis Regis was a seventeenth-century French Jesuit priest who walked through the rugged Velay and Vivarais regions after religious conflict. He preached parish missions, catechized children, heard long hours of confessions, visited prisoners, and gathered aid for poor families. Exhausted during a winter mission, he died at Lalouvesc in 1640.
Prayer
Pray with Saint John Francis Regis
Missionary God, you sent Saint John Francis Regis along difficult roads to neglected communities. Through his intercession, strengthen parish missionaries and confessors, warm our concern for prisoners and poor families, and keep us generous when service is tiring. May no person be too remote for our care. Amen.
