About Saint Vitus

Vitus is venerated as a young Sicilian martyr of the early fourth century, traditionally during Diocletian’s persecution. Firm historical details are scarce, and accounts involving his companions Modestus and Crescentia are largely legendary. His widespread medieval cult made him one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers and a patron in neurological illness.

Prayer

Pray with Saint Vitus

God of steadfast hope, you received Saint Vitus’s youthful witness in an age of persecution. Through his intercession, strengthen young Christians and people living with seizures or neurological illness. Calm fear, guide medical caregivers, and keep us faithful when stories about us are misunderstood. Amen.
