About Saint Ignatius of Antioch

Ignatius, bishop of Antioch, was arrested and taken under guard to Rome early in the second century. Along the journey he wrote seven letters urging Christian unity around the bishop, fidelity to Christ’s real humanity, and courageous love. He accepted martyrdom in the arena while asking believers not to confuse discipleship with a search for prestige.
