About Saint Hildegard of Bingen
Hildegard was a twelfth-century Benedictine abbess, visionary, composer, natural observer, and fearless correspondent with popes and rulers. She founded communities on the Rhine and described creation as radiant with God’s life while insisting that her visions serve Scripture and Church discernment. Pope Benedict XVI named her a Doctor of the Church in 2012.
