About Saint Henry II
Henry II governed as king of Germany and later Holy Roman Emperor alongside his wife, Saint Cunigunde. He supported monasteries, encouraged ecclesial reform, and established the Diocese of Bamberg, while carrying the complex burdens of medieval rule and warfare. The Church remembers his effort to place public responsibility at God’s service.

God of nations, through Saint Henry’s intercession, give public servants humility, prudence, and concern for the common good. Teach those with influence to support communities of prayer, protect the vulnerable, and submit ambition to your judgment. Amen.
