About Saint Helena
Helena rose from comparatively humble origins to become mother of Emperor Constantine and receive the title Augusta. In old age she traveled to the Holy Land and supported churches at sites associated with Christ’s life. Christian tradition credits her with discovering the True Cross, though the historical details developed over time.
