About Saint Galdinus
Galdinus della Sala, born around 1100, served Milan’s Church during Emperor Frederick Barbarossa’s destruction of the city and shared Archbishop Oberto’s exile. Made cardinal and archbishop in 1166, he helped rebuild Milan, restored ecclesial discipline, opposed schism and Cathar teaching, and organized aid for the poor and imprisoned. He died while preaching in 1176.
