About Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen
Fidelis, born Mark Rey in 1578, trained in law and became known as an advocate for poor clients before entering the Capuchins. As a priest he served plague victims and preached in the religiously divided Swiss Grisons. In 1622 armed opponents killed him at Seewis after a sermon; he died praying forgiveness.

God of faithful mercy, you led Saint Fidelis from law into Capuchin service and sustained him amid plague and religious violence. Through his intercession, bless legal advocates for the poor, protect preachers, and heal divisions that turn deadly. Amen.
