About Saint Dominic
Dominic de Guzmán was a Spanish canon whose encounter with religious conflict in southern France convinced him that preaching needed study, poverty, and credible witness. He founded the Order of Preachers, sending friars to universities and cities. Tradition also links him closely with the Rosary and devotion to the Mother of God.
