About Saint David of Wales
David, who lived in sixth-century Wales, was a bishop, monastic founder, and vigorous preacher associated especially with Mynyw, now St Davids. His communities practiced prayer, study, manual work, and austere simplicity. Later tradition connects his preaching at the Synod of Brefi with a dove and miraculously rising ground.
