About Saint Clement Mary Hofbauer
Clement Hofbauer, born in Moravia in 1751, became a Redemptorist priest after years as a baker and pilgrim. At Saint Benno’s in Warsaw he organized preaching, schools, orphan care, and food assistance. Expelled during the Napoleonic era, he continued pastoral renewal in Vienna through confession, spiritual direction, and support of Catholic intellectual life.
