About Saint Charles Lwanga
Charles Lwanga was a young Baganda court official and Catholic catechist in the kingdom of Buganda. He protected younger pages from King Mwanga II’s abuse and encouraged them during persecution. Charles and companions were burned at Namugongo in 1886 after refusing to abandon Christianity, becoming central witnesses of the Ugandan Church.
