About Saint Cecilia
Cecilia is one of Rome’s most beloved early martyrs, named in the Roman Canon and associated with an ancient church in Trastevere. Reliable details of her life and death are scarce; the later account of her wedding, conversion of Valerian, and singing to God shaped centuries of devotion. She became patron of music and musicians.
