About Saint Bernardine of Siena
Bernardine was a fifteenth-century Italian Franciscan friar and celebrated missionary preacher. Traveling through towns divided by factional violence, he urged repentance, peace, and honest economic life. He promoted devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus, represented by the IHS monogram, and helped renew the Franciscan Observant movement.
