About Saint Bernadette Soubirous
Bernadette Soubirous, born into poverty at Lourdes in 1844, was fourteen when she reported eighteen apparitions of Mary at Massabielle. She endured repeated questioning without changing her account. Later she entered the Sisters of Charity at Nevers, serving in the infirmary and sacristy while living with serious illness. She died in 1879.
