About Saint Benedict of Nursia
Benedict left his studies in Rome for a life of prayer, first as a hermit near Subiaco and later as founder of Monte Cassino. His Rule shaped communities around prayer, work, hospitality, stability, and wise moderation. Honored as a father of Western monasticism, he taught that every guest should be welcomed as Christ.
