About Saint Anthony of Lérins
Anthony of Lérins was a fifth-century monk born in Pannonia and connected by tradition with Severinus of Noricum. After losing his father, he pursued monastic life in the Alpine region and eventually sought greater solitude at the monastery of Lérins off the coast of Gaul. A later biography praises his humility and resistance to unwanted attention.
