About Saint Anselm of Canterbury

Anselm, born in Aosta around 1033, became a monk and abbot at Bec, then archbishop of Canterbury. His prayers and philosophical theology explored faith seeking understanding, including influential arguments about God and redemption. Disputes with English kings over investiture sent him into exile twice, yet he worked patiently for reform and ecclesial freedom.
