About Saint Agnes of Montepulciano
Agnes, born near Montepulciano in 1268, entered religious life as a child and became superior of a community at Proceno while still young. She later founded a monastery in Montepulciano that adopted Dominican life. Accounts remember her rigorous prayer, wise leadership, and mystical signs; Catherine of Siena visited her shrine soon after her death in 1317.
