About Pope Saint Soter
Soter served as bishop of Rome around 167–174. Few details survive, but a contemporary letter from Bishop Dionysius of Corinth praises the Roman church’s longstanding generosity to Christians in many cities and says Soter continued that practice with aid and consoling correspondence. Later martyr traditions lack firm early evidence.
