About Saint Anne
Scripture does not name Mary’s parents, but an ancient Christian tradition preserved in the Protoevangelium of James calls them Anne and Joachim. The Church honors Anne as the mother who prepared Mary for her vocation and as Jesus’ grandmother. Her feast celebrates family faith, patient hope, and wisdom passed between generations.

God of every generation, through Saint Anne’s intercession, bless grandparents, parents, and all who nurture children in faith. Heal strained families, reward patient care, and help us hand on wisdom with tenderness and trust. Amen.
