About Saint Andrew Dũng-Lạc
Andrew Dũng-Lạc was born into a poor non-Christian family in northern Vietnam, received catechesis and baptism, and became a priest serving scattered communities. He sometimes changed his name and location to evade persecution, but was arrested and beheaded in 1839. His feast represents 117 Vietnamese martyrs from many centuries, including bishops, priests, religious, and laypeople.
