About Saint Albert of Jerusalem
Albert Avogadro served as bishop of Vercelli and later Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, residing at Acre during the Crusader period. Around 1206–1214 he gave the hermits on Mount Carmel a concise rule centered on prayer, Scripture, work, and common life, forming the foundation of the Carmelite tradition. He was killed at Acre in 1214.
