About Pope Saint Leo the Great
Leo served as bishop of Rome from 440 to 461, strengthening pastoral care during political collapse and theological conflict. His Tome clarified the Church’s confession of Christ as truly divine and truly human and shaped the Council of Chalcedon. He also negotiated for civilians when Attila’s and later Vandal forces threatened Rome, joining doctrine with courageous public service.
