Be Still
Day 7 of 9 · 4 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
Jesus, I come to you with open hands. I want to stop carrying alone what was never meant to be mine to carry. Quiet the fear in me, steady my restless heart, and help me to believe that you are good, that you are near, and that you are at work even where I cannot see. Into your hands I place this day, and everything in it. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
Psalm 46:11'Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.'
- 05
Reflection
Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is stop. Be still is not laziness; it is the deliberate surrender of our frantic effort to control. In the stillness we remember who is actually God, and it is not us. The world does not depend on our anxiety to keep turning.
- 06
Prayer
Lord, teach me to be still. Quiet the part of me that believes I must keep working, fixing, and worrying or everything will fall apart. In the stillness, let me remember that you are God and I am not. Loosen my grip, settle my heart, and let me rest in the knowledge that you are in control. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Closing
Jesus, I surrender myself to you; take care of everything. I trust that you love me more than I love myself, and that you are working for my good even now. I let go of my need to control the outcome and place my intention, my future, and my whole self into your hands. Whatever you allow, give me the grace to receive it with peace. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
