Do Not Be Anxious
Day 2 of 9 · 4 min
- 01
Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 02
Opening
Jesus, I come to you with open hands. I want to stop carrying alone what was never meant to be mine to carry. Quiet the fear in me, steady my restless heart, and help me to believe that you are good, that you are near, and that you are at work even where I cannot see. Into your hands I place this day, and everything in it. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
- 03
Your Intention
Let us pause in silence, and bring to mind the intention you are praying for.
In the app, your own saved intention rests here during the silence. The narration stays the same for everyone.
- 04
Scripture
Matthew 6:32For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
- 05
Reflection
Anxiety often whispers that everything depends on us, that if we stop worrying, things will fall apart. But Jesus reminds us that our Father already knows what we need, before we ask and before we worry. Trust is the slow work of believing that the One who knows our needs also intends to meet them.
- 06
Prayer
Father, you know what I need before I can put it into words. Free me from the anxious belief that it all rests on me. When my mind races ahead into every possible disaster, draw it back to your providence. Help me to seek you first, and to trust that you will care for the rest. Amen.
- 07
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
- 08
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
- 09
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
- 10
Closing
Jesus, I surrender myself to you; take care of everything. I trust that you love me more than I love myself, and that you are working for my good even now. I let go of my need to control the outcome and place my intention, my future, and my whole self into your hands. Whatever you allow, give me the grace to receive it with peace. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
